Chelmsford River Festival based around the river at Backnang Square.

Heybridge Regatta
Always a great day out for all the family, with lots of events organised including Boat Racing, BBQ, Greasy Pole Pillow Fight, Stalls and Games. You may want to take your boat down or visit just for the day by car. Leave it up to you.
July 9th & 10th
Chelmer Canal Trust BBQ
Cruise to Rushes Lock on the saturday to join in the Chelmer Canal Trust BBQ. Stay over and then back to Sandford on the sunday. If anyone did not want to take their boat but would rather drive to Hoe Mill and park, then Ron on Blackwater Dawn will be running trips up to the BBQ from Hoe Mill for a donation to the trust.
August 20th
Sandford Lock BBQ
Every year The "Sandford Boating Club" hold a BBQ for all to come along. BBQ is supplied, all you need to bring along is your own food and drink. The now renowned ‘Plastic Duck Racing’ will also be taking place in the lock.!
Stay over on your boat and have a leasurely day on the sunday with us.
Ron from Blackwater Boats is also considering having saturday as another ‘On The Water’ event in the afternoon, very similar to the Solstace event last year. Music, Tombola, Paddle Boarding etc which might encourage a few more boaters to come up for the weekend and join us.
August 27th - 29th
Bank Holiday Cruise to Heybridge
Cruise down on saturday and have a meal in the Ship Pub saturday night. All day sunday to relax and do your own thing and then return to Sandford on the monday.
October 8th & 9th
End of Season Fish and Chips in Springfield Basin
Cruise up during saturday and then have a pleasant evening in the basin with a fish and chip supper. This will need to be pre ordered as before.
November 12th
Sandford Boating Club Dinner
Our usual pre christmas get together for the club dinner. Details to follow.
